Count It all Joy

“Count it all joy” James 1:2. Yeah right!

The New Year has come and gone, yet the only thing I seem to remember about it were the series of battles that we welcomed in it.

We made the choice to not waste time complaining, murmuring, and groaning as if God had forgotten our family. We were going to count it all joy and declare in the midst of the battle, how wonderful our God is. We were  going to thank Him, declare his goodness, faithfulness, wonderful provision, generosity, greatness and that He will never leave His children begging for bread…Praise in the face of despair broke the discouragement and sadness but faith was evoked, joy, peace even laughter….

We moved into a Modcom that is on the ministry centre grounds. It was an adjustment downsizing from a 3-bedroom to a 1-bedroom home. We had no electricity for one whole month and on the day, it was turned on, our car died. A few tears shed and praise the Lord again but that meant that Api could not get to work and Emmanuel to Day Care. That was tough to look at and still praise God.

However, in the middle of that discouraging situation God had signposts of hope and relief. In the 2 and half weeks we were without a car, money kept appearing mysteriously in my back pack or emails from a dear friend sending us money. Food and clothes came from other friends. Praise the Lord and a few tears shed again in thanksgiving. Then $3500 came in and we were able to buy the car we now have…Moral of the story? Count it all joy!

We are leading the medical stream for the MRM DTS and it has been exciting. We are going on outreach for 7 weeks as a family with the medical stream team. There are seven students from all over the world and our team is going to PNG and Fiji.  We are all excited and are now in the process of planning and networking with people about this trip.  We are hoping to be involved in medical outreaches, building & community projects.

We currently doing a course in Triage & Emergency and have also completed a CPR course, all this to apply on outreach where needed. We also are praying for other ministry opportunities to work alongside churches and YWAM bases etc.  Our team has two nurses, one pharmacist and all the rest are first aid trained.

So all this combined we pray that we are God’s hands extended. This can only happen through God’s help through your prayers and financial support. Thank you again for taking the time to read this and prayerfully considering supporting us.
